ELASTIC CUSHIONED ACRYLIC

Definition:
Elastic acrylic court is one of the three surface materials for tennis courts designated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), alongside grass and clay courts. It is composed of 100% acrylic-based materials and specially formulated polymeric rubber particles, featuring an elastic cushioning layer in the surface to distinguish it from the non-elastic hard acrylic courts.
Elastic acrylic courts exhibit excellent resilience, outstanding shock absorption, and UV resistance, effectively concealing minor cracks from the base while reducing impact on athletes' feet and legs. Acrylic-coated surfaces dominate global competitive tennis courts.

 Core parameters:
Standard thickness: 3-5mm (mainstream for campuses/fitness: 4mm). Base layer requires asphalt or high-quality concrete, with tensile strength ≥0.8MPa and elongation at break ≥40%. Environmental standards comply with GB 36246-2018 (limitation of harmful substances in non-solid raw materials). Service life: 3-8 years.
Applicable scenarios:
Tennis courts (professional and amateur), basketball courts, and badminton courts (ball sports venues with specific resilience requirements), school sports fields (venues requiring joint protection for students), and community fitness facilities (high-frequency usage scenarios). Suitable for ball sports venues with high demands on shock absorption and sports protection.
Case Data:
Fuzhou Minjiang Pedestrian Path (partial sections), Aisosa International School in Guangzhou, Huadu Sports Center in Guangzhou, and others.
FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between elastic acrylic and hard acrylic?
A: Elastic acrylic contains an elastic shock-absorbing layer composed of polymerized rubber particles, with a thickness of 3-5mm, offering excellent shock absorption and the ability to cover minor cracks. Hard acrylic lacks an elastic layer, with a thickness of only 1.5-2mm, featuring high hardness, fast ball speed, and lower cost.
Q2: How many years can an elastic acrylic court last?
A: The service life can reach 3 to 8 years, depending on the foundation quality of the site, construction quality, and usage frequency.
Q3: Is elastic acrylic court suitable for outdoor use?
A: Suitable. Elastic acrylic offers excellent UV resistance, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, with long-lasting color that does not fade.
Q4: Does the elastic acrylic court comply with environmental protection requirements?
A: Elastic acrylic is a water-based raw material, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, meeting the GB 36246-2018 limit requirements for hazardous substances in non-solid materials.
